In 1989 Wallace and Paula Pasbrig purchased the former South Amana communal bakery. After years of rennovation and restoration the Pasbrigs opened their doors to Amana visitors as a bed and breakfast. Searching for a name which described the building's history as well as its German heritage they chose, "The Baeckerei".

Baeckerei
German Translation:
"Bakery"
The Baeckerei has expanded to include the art of custom framing. Creative ideas and experienced framers eagerly await every new piece brought through the door. From cross-stitches to paintings ... photos to lace ... you will be pleased by the finished product.
